Sarvepalli Sisters

Vid. Kum. Dr. Sarvepalli Sreya & Vid. Kum. Dr. Sarvepalli Raja Lakshmi, were born in a family of ardent music lovers. While Sreya started her musical odyssey at a tender age of two, when she won the first prize in a competition conducted by the Indian Medical Association at Nellore, Raja Lakshmi's journey began even at an earlier age learning from her elder sister’s music classes. This made their parents Dr. Ajay Kumar & Dr. Lakshmi Sarada much passionate towards music.

Having taken their initial music lessons from Vid. Sailaja Vanisree, they have been nurtured further by Sangeethacharya Vid. Dr.Vyzarsu Balasubrahmanyam. For the past 6 years, they are under the tutelage & are the disciples of Padma Bhushan awardee, Sangita Kalanidhi Smt. Dr. Sudha Ragunathan, Chennai. They gave their debut concert in the divine presence of His Holiness Parama Poojya Sri.Sri.Sri.Ganapathi Sachchidanada Swamiji at Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Mysore. They have been giving concerts across the country at places like Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mysore, Kancheepuram Shankara Mutt, Puttaparthi Sai Kulvanth Hall, & for sabhas like The Music Academy, Madras (for HCL Concerts, Spirit of Youth festival). They have also been blessed with gold chains & pearl chains by His Holiness of Dattapeetham, Mysore after their concerts in couple of occassions like the Navaratri, MahaShivarathri, and the debut concert. They have been performing in Chennai for various sabhas during the December Margazhi Festival.

Sarvepalli Sisters have received the "Asthana Vidushi" Titles from Avadhootha Datta Peetham, Mysore conferred by the Governor of Telangana, on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadasami. They have been awarded the prestigious ‘Yuva Purandara Award 2024’ by the Indira Nagar Sangeetha Sabha, Bengaluru. Sreya & Raja Lakshmi are CCRT National Scholarship holders. As a duo, they have been awarded Direct A grade by the All India Radio in Carnatic Vocal & also A grade artists individually.

They have been adjudged as the "Best Individual Performance" in the HCL Concert series 2025 by the Madras Music Academy.

 Also they have won many competitions conducted by various sabhas including Narada Gana Sabha’s ‘RTP competition’, Doordarshan’s Chiruswara Samaram (a Carnatic Music based reality show), Music Academy’s Annual Competitions, Sudhaarnava’s Global Competitions. Also, Sreya is the 2nd prize winner of ETV’s Paadutha Theeyaga Series 8 , a singing reality show hosted by Sri. S.P. Balasubrahmanyam.

They are well known on Social media platforms through their unique approach of exploring Carnatic music. Their rendition of Ninnu vidisi undalenayya gained a lot of popularity. Their unique series of Charming Chittaswarams, Carnatic-O-Fil'mix' are enjoyed by a lot of people across the globe.

Their academic excellence is noteworthy too. Both of them completed MBBS, achieving distinctions in many of their MBBS examinations. While Dr. Sreya is pursuing MD General Medicine, Dr. Raja Lakshmi is doing her internship currently.
